3xs order arrived today - happy but turbo still on during idle

Like to say thanks to Scan for my system that finally arrived today I say finally as there was a prolonged wait due to an unfortunate human error from the netsolve driver. After reading some of the threads on this forum a few members would have literally exploded had it happened to them! When told of the error via e-mail Scan were very prompt even gifting me things I cleared wasn't hankering for (thanks Ben). Shame about tweedledum and tweedledee on the phones, but there does seem to be a customer service quality vacuum in that area. Apathetic would be an understatement!

System has arrived all seems ok (apart from the noise on the tri-cool fans, but I have some Akasa Apache super silent s-flex to replace them). Just hope I can control the speeds from within the bios. Have quickly been in the bios, and it displays weirdly on my tv - hard to see what's happening. As you go to each section a remnant of the last section is still on the screen and there is flashing on the screen also - impossible to navigate like that. Any ideas? I have it hooked up by HDMI, and when in the bios it clearly isn't displaying at 1080p. Windows is fine.

Played Witcher 2 for a very short time, will be able to give it more of a test over the weekend. Seemed okay. Ran 3dmark 2011, and got over 6000 which I am assured is good. I have the system for games, to watch downloaded TV and as a music server to a squeezebox. So the sandybridge turbo boost obviously interests me in it's money saving benefits. The problem is the turbo is on 4.7ghz all the time. It doesn't drop down to even 3.3 let alone the 1.6 I assume it would be on as a music server. Is there a stability issue with this motherboard if the overclock isn't on all the time? I noticed in the overclock profile you sent to me that C1E is disabled. Some advice here would be appreciated thanks.

Anyway thanks again to Scan for some good service from start to finish. I was aware it would take around a month from ordering to delivering, so I haven't been disappointed when it took round about that (few days extra). I was quoted 3 weeks but I thought that was optimistic after reading other threads here. The case has been wonderfully put together, only minor gripe is putting the hard drives in the middle bay instead of the lower. If you had done that then the airflow from the Noctua would have been superb. But it's not a big deal as the system is reasonably cool. I'm very happy as it stands at this moment
