I'm posting on behalf of a friend; recently said friend ordered the P67 i5 2500k 4.4ghz Radius bundle, he chose the H60 over the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 because I did not see how a cooler with a 92mm fan would be sufficient cooling for an overclocked i5 2500k.
He didn't install the bundle himself and I live too far away to be able to do it for him or easily check if something has gone wrong, so he paid someone from a local company to install it into the system he already had, replacing the older parts. He'd previously dealt with this company before and had no problems.
The issue is after he had everything setup I instructed him to perform some stress tests to check temperatures and make sure everything is ok. Using Prime95 blend test after only a minute or so his Core temperatures peaked at 80 degrees C with a vCore of 1.41, both of which I believe to be far too high for his cooling setup and case, (Lian Li PC-P80) do you normally see such high temps/are you ok with them being this high? His GTX570 that he also ordered at the same time doesn't have high temps under full load, (peaked at 69c I believe) lower than the CPU in fact. When the person he paid installed it he told him he wanted the fan on the H60 exhausting the air out the back but after putting his hand up against the fan he couldn't really tell which way the air was blowing, but felt like it was intaking rather than exhausting out the back. That aside, I feel that no matter if it was exhausting or intaking the temp still shouldn't be that high...
When you overclock these bundles do you use an automatic vCore in the BIOS settings or do you manually configure it? He told me one of the e-mails from Scan said something like changing any setting in the BIOS would void his warranty, so he doesn't want to even look at anything in case he makes a mistake, let alone change it. I think it's safe to assume the cooler was mounted correctly as I'm sure your staff have built this bundle multiple times, but I suppose that doesn't rule out the mounting fouling up during shipping.
