    BSOD - Unrecoverable Hardware Error

    Hi,

    I've been loving my machine this year, and just want to take this opportunity to say thanks for great customer service during the order and purchase, but a few months ago it started to BSOD. About once a week or maybe twice. I've made sure the PC is very clean, all fans and filters are almost without dust and I'm sure the machine is not overheating. (I check the temps straight after a crash in the bios) The BSOD happens when the machine is left alone as well as when I'm playing games which is why I think its not heat related. Over the last 2 weeks I changed the bios back to standard and it did not crash once. A couple of days ago I put it back to overclock (using the profiles) and unfortunately it crashed on the second night playing games.

    Any advice please in how to proceed?

    It's probably just a voltage setting that needs adjusting/increasing slightly. Give the support guys a phone and they can either talk you through what needs to be done or email instructions to you.

    Re: BSOD - Unrecoverable Hardware Error

    Hi

    If its only happening when the over lock is running make sure you are not using any power saving features and you may need to up the CPU voltage a little or set the Loadline higher , have a look in the bios and let me know what the voltage of the CPU is set to and the level of over clocking on the system

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: BSOD - Unrecoverable Hardware Error

    Hi - thanks for the replies.

    I'm definitely not using any power saving modes - i made that mistake when i re-installed Win7 early in the year.

    Here is my settings in the bios.

    Under MIT:

    bios version = F6
    BCLK = 100.32
    CPU Freq = 4514
    Mem Freq = 1605
    Total = 16384
    CPU Temp = 33
    VCore = 1.356v
    DRAM = 1.524v

    Advanced Frequency Settings:

    CPU Clock Ratio 45x
    CPU Freq = 4.5ghz 100 x 45

    Advanced Voltage Settings:
    Load Line Calibration Enabled
    Dynamic Vcore (DVID) [+0.050v]
    (next 3 settings all set to AUTO)
    CPU PLL = [1.940v]
    DRAM voltage = [1.500v]

    I hope that's the right info?

    Hi

    Try upping the vcore to 1.38 or 1.39 and see if thats any better and if not drop us an email with your build and invoice number to systemsupport@scan.co.uk and I will look into this when back in tomorrow

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: BSOD - Unrecoverable Hardware Error

    I am definitely losing my tech knowledge as I thought I knew how to change the vcore but I obviously don't - if you don't use it you lose it :/ It's been far too long for me.

    To change it am I moving the Dynamic Vcore (DVID) value to a higher setting? To maybe [+0.060v or +0.070v ]

    I want to make sure since it gives a warning about reducing the life span of the CPU on that setting.
