Very slow boot times

Hi guys,

I'm not overly concerned about this - yet - but my Scan G30 system is starting to take longer and longer to boot.

Soon after delivery, after I switch on, the "beep" took about 6 seconds to sound, but now it's taking upwards of ten seconds. The whole boot sequence is now taking about 20 seconds and for a SSD based system I reckon that's a tad to long.

Could this be a PSU or graphics issue ? Or do you have any other suggestions ?

It all depends on how long you've had the system - all PC's will slow after time after more applications are installed. If you've been installing alot of software recently, then that could be why. Or perhaps a virus checker is coming on at startup (windows defender tends to do that by default).

If the POST process is taking longer before it actually boots from the SSD than it's unlikely to be software/Windows related.

Have you made any specific changes to the BIOS or connected any extra USB devices since first getting the system as these could cause the time it takes to POST to increase.

I use AVG Free, and have not made any changes to BIOS. The only USB stuff attached is the printer.

It took 13 seconds to the "beep" this morning. Getting more concerned every day.

There may be a Profile to load so we need to determine what the spec motherboard is in the system

Its a Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, Intel Core i5-3570K, 3700 MHz, with 16GB RAM as 2x Corsair CM3B8G2C1600L9L, and a Corsair Force 3 SSD 120GB (which I had problems with at the start but was replaced).

Ive just checked the BIOS and it *seems* OK, but Im no BIOS guru.
