Overclocking Error on Boot
Been having a great time with my build (Thanks Scan!), however, I'd say this is the first "problem" I'v had. I'v emailed the support and got given instructions, but I'v recently just gone back into the BIOS which is why I'm posting here now.
Today when I booted up, I had no DVI connection coming up on my monitor, so I checked the cables and booted up again which worked. However, I had a overclocking error:

After emailing support, they gave me instructions to follow
Quote:
1. Press DEL to enter the BIOS on bootup.
2. Press F7 for Advance Mode
3. Go to Tools -> ASUS Overclock Profile
4. Enter 2 into Load Profile and then highlight the line and press enter and yes to load.
5. Press ESC and then F10 to Save and Exit.
This worked and got rid of the error. But for some strange reason, I decided to go back into the BIOS to just check its loading the correct profile, which it was. However, I noticed my CPU speed was showing 3300 megahertz, when it was overclocked to 44000 megahertz.
Pretty much, is it normal to me showing the 3300 megahertz? And how could I make sure it is still overclocked?
Once again, thanks for the great build and support :D

You could use CPU-Z but if the OC profile is set to speedstep (ie when CPU not under load it down clocks) then you may not see what max CPU speed it's set to.
So I'd recommend downloading Intel eXtreme Tuning Utility and running the stress test on CPU.
XTU will also give you data like temps / thermal throttling , etc.

Hi,
Can you email your invoice number or build number to Systemsupport@scan.co.uk
In the BIOS under Ai Tweaker (assuming this is a ASUS motherboard) see if you have an option for Target CPU.
Regards
Sanjay

Re: Overclocking Error on Boot
Bumping this.
Yesterday, the exact same happened, however with me having the instructions already both in this thread and through an email response, I fixed it again.
However, this morning the exact same thing happened again, which I'v had to fix for a third time. I am rather getting frustrated and disappointing to why this is happening regularly now considering the price I paid for the system. What do you recommend.
