So from what I can gather from your posts, you want a hybrid of HTPC and a system powerful enough to render your items in adobe and run a virtual server.
My next question to you is; what is the main purpose of the PC, to playback media or to edit the media files (be it pictures or videos)?
If you are manipulating large uncompressed pictures or video and rendering them (example is rendering video to h.264 format with 2 passes) then Core i7 and minimum of 6GB ram is ideal. But a system like this is complete overkill for a media playback center.
As for a case, well take a look at a video review of the Lian Li PC A77; it's a case I wish to buy once I get the money together. Can't complain at 9 HDD spaces all cooled by 120mm fans
GFX, well I'm not too clued up on non-gaming gfx cards so will have to leave that one to someone more knowledgeable.

Hi Allyb
We can offer Core i7 3XS system that is nice and quite, the cosmos case is a good choice it’s also worth looking at the Antec P182 they also have built in sound proofing.
We can run cables for your hard drives and optical drives when we build the system this is not a problem and will not void any warranty.
It might also be worth considering a 775 platform with a Q9550 it really just depends on what you want from the system and also how much you are looking to spend, Core i7 might be over kill for what you need right now but will certainly offer some degree of future proofing on the other hand a Q9550 is still a good cpu and might be all you need…
Ill have a look over the rest of the thread
Ahh I forgot to ask; why do you need two HDMI outputs on the gfx card? There might be a simpler solution to setting up the PC to how you want it to work.
