Will try now - I called the main Scan number and then followed the "Press X. Press Y" to get through to tech support.

    Speak shortly,

    Thanks Ben.

Not sure why the error occured, but pretty sure that the cause is Windows 7 going into Hibernation after 30 minutes by default.

Changed that parameter now and hopefully won't see the issue again.

probably windows 7 didnt communicate well with your BIOS which caused it to reset. if you had a saved profile, which I hope you do, then all you need to do is reload it, save and reboot.

Thanks. Indeed I have 2 saved profiles in the BIOS. However windows 7 did revert back to the OC'd one anyway.

This issue with "hibernation / sleep" has existed for a long time and exists in Vista too (perhaps even XP). Think this might be greater than just MSFT to resolve; and get the feeling noones that bothered about it

Re: Scan Guys - Please help

I've never got on with any of these power saving settings, in any of the Windows versions I've used (up to XP). Whenever I've tried I have always been unable to "wake up" the PC from its slumbers so now I prefer to turn off any settings like this altogether, to avoid such bother. It's a shame because if it saves on power (and therefore the environment) then I'm all for features like this normally. *shrug*

Anyways... I'm taking notes here and sincerely hope this is indeed the cause of your mysterious problem today, Andy.

Re: Scan Guys - Please help

My new OCed 3XS system sleeps and wakes just fine in Vista. I have yet to try Windows 7.

In my experience, problems related to sleep are generally driver related... Send some feedback to MS and maybe they will help you get to the bottom of it, or at least solve the issue for RTM.

They helped me when I had a conflict between Windows 7 and Norton Ghost 14 on my old PC.
