Another person looking for Scan advice.

    Hello all!

I am currently looking to buy a new desktop computer as my old laptop isn't cutting it anymore. I read a trusted review on the Scan 3XS GTX which I was pretty impressed with, but I have a few questions to ask if someone is willing to help? I know very little about computers in general really.

I am hoping to order a Scan 3XS GTX for gaming mostly (A few FPS's, Flight Sims and the Total War series to name a few), aswell as general internet use, and was wondering what everyone thinks of this configuration below? I don't have as much money to spend as some of the other threads I have seen on here, but I do have £1250 to blow on my credit card to "help the economy" (well, that is my excuse anyway). I do plan on buying upgrades for it such as extra cooling fans and Blu Ray etc in the near future when I have some more money to spend.

    Hi Lewis,

Great to hear your thinking of ordering a 3XS system...

Yup the Performance GTX machine got a good review... Ill have a look over your spec in more detail on Monday and post back.

Delivery to mainland UK is about £20ish, however if you stick around on the HEXUS forum you can qualify for free shipping

    Cheerios

    Hi Philipp.

Thanks for the response, I will look forward to hearing back from you on Monday-ish. I am just really looking to see if I am getting the most bang for my buck.

£20 sounds more than reasonable so I would be more than happy to pay that.

How much does that cost, In parts it costs £880 including software, I'd assume it's going to cost a bit more as it's a 3XS.

Are you looking to spend your full budget or is that absoloute maximum? What resolution will you be gaming at or don't you have a monitor yet? This will influence your graphics card requirements.

Nearly £900 for a pc of that spec shocks me for some reason

    It's 4.98*

Re: Another person looking for Scan advice.

    The price including VAT is
£1,194.39 (which includes a keyboard), I am looking to spend all of my budget but not a penny more, so yes £1250 is the maximum but I am happy to spend all of it.

Monitor wise I have a "Samsung T220HD 22-inch Widescreen LCD TFT Monitor".

Re: Another person looking for Scan advice.

    Hi Lewis,

I am just working on a new system spec that may be of interest to you, it’s going to be based around a heavily over clocked dual core CPU with aggressive pricing.

I should have the spec and a test system sorted by the end of the week, It should give a much better price/performance than the system your currently looking at....

Ill update as soon as possible

    Best Regards

Re: Another person looking for Scan advice.

    Hi Lewis,

The finer details are yet to be confirmed however its looking like a Intel P43 chipset with a 3.75Ghz dual core CPU (over clocked).

I am hoping to hit the £799ish mark with a GTX 260....

    More when I have it
