Apart from its limit on addressing memory, XP has zero shortcomings.

Wrong. WinXP 64bit? As for shortcomings, there's a bucketload.

Please don't post search FUD - for modern systems a modern OS makes perfect sense, it's quicker, more secure and far better featured.

Well let us know how you get on. Having read the articles by Anand that Singh400 posted, I've decided that I'll get more out of an SSD by not putting my OS on it and just using it for specific apps.
