Hi John
As the system is working ok without the Raptor Drives it may be worthwhile checking these with the WD Drive Diagnostics software found on their website, the Raptor Drives are covered under warranty and can be replaced if found faulty

I will be interested to see the result of this. It's disappointing to see Scan actually built a PC system with one of the least reliable motherboards ever produced, and a lot of the complaints about the S2F were due to S-ATA related faults, which might explain the issue with the raptors.
Ben,
I see from the WD site that they provide a CD bootable tester this is what I will use as then I can install both drives and test them without having the worry of trying to boot into Windows. The only question I have is should I, when I reinstall the drives, re-enable the RAID or leave the drives as stand alone SATA drives for the test?
John
Ideally try both, to identify if it's the drives, the s-ata controller, or the raid itself.
Hi John
Please test each drive seperately not raided

Ben
Ben,
I have run the WD tests on both the disks and they pass with 0 errors (both in stand alone SATA and when set as a RAID).
Again I tried to boot into Windows with the RAID pair set-up but the PC stops when it gets to the green progress bar and has to be turned off and restarted.
If I tried in safe mode the system stops when it is loading crcdisk.sys file.
Removing the RAID pair and the PC runs with no apparent issue.

Hi John
Have you tried a fresh OS install on the Raid? If the drives have passed thats good but maybe the Raid driver is corrupted...this could have been caused by a failing overclock..
Personally I would delete the Raid and start a new Raid Stripe and see if the problems persist
have you got any other drives in the system that could be causing the conflict?
Regards
Ben
Ben,
I have decided that I will not reinstate the RAID as I have had enough of installing the OS over and over again. I will stick with what appear to be a stable system.
I have removed the 2 WD raptor drives and replaced them with 2 500Gb Seagate drives I had and I will retain the Seagate 750Gb drive that was supplied.
As for turning on the overclocking I will try this over the new week and report back any problems I encounter.
John
