Which Graphics Card For 3XS Power Daw?

    Hi all,
I'm very, very close to now purchasing a Scan 3XS Audio PowerDaw i7 (KL3 Kublai).
But Im very confused in what graphic card to put in?
I know very little in this department so I don't know which would be best.
I keep hearing that Nvidia would be better for some reasons over ATI.
The pc won't be used for gaming or anything else and it won't be online.
Only one monitor would be used but I would like the option of having two maybe for the near future.
I see that the Nvidia card is no longer an option for the PowerDaw but Gainward instead.
The ATI Sapphire and Gigabyte cards are there to.
Would the ATI Gigabyte run better with the Gigabyte motherboard? I take it its the same company?
I would be greatfull if anyone could help me deciede ( Pete?? lol!)
    Regards,
    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

Nvidia and Ati both make the chipsets that the cards are based around. Many different companys make varients on these cards but the key points are the chipsets used.

The Gainwood card you see on there is a Nvidia based solution and will do the job you need it to perfectly fine (it has 3 outputs (Dvi, Dsub & HDMI)). The ATI options are also there but personally I tend to prefer the Nvidia solutions as I find the drivers less awkward to work with. The only reservations I would have would be if you own 1st generation PCI based UAD processing cards otherwise the Gainwoods fine.

    Thanks Pete!
I must admit I was heading down the ATI road! I'm not to worried about the UAD1's as I don't have any, but I hope to install a UAD2 later on so I guess the Gainward sounds like a good option.
Can I ask why the Nvida's were removed? Is it because the Gainward is a "better" card?
Sorry, like I said before, my knowlege on graphics cards is pretty poor!
    Cheers,
    Michael.

The Gainwoods are Nvidia based cards.

Nvidia don't make their own cards they just licence on the tech to other firms. The original Nvidia cards on the spec were made by "Paliet" but those have now gone end of life from supplier so these are the next closest cards spec & price wise.

The UAD 1's were acturly built around an Nvidia processor and some boards see them as graphics cards during the post phase which is why I was asking. The UAD 2's have fixed this issue through so no problems there.

Thanks for clearing that up Pete, as I said, I really don't know much about graphic cards.
I thought Nvidia actually made their own cards! God, I feel dumb!!!
