Why does this system not offer Windows 7????

I've been looking at the 3XS Core i7 Workstation.

1) Why is windows 7 (64 bit) not offered?
2) How come a sound card option is not listed?!
3) Can anyone confirm a how many USB ports are available in this system.

I'm impressed by the site/forum,but not the above, which to me are fairly basic for all PC configurations.

Essentially you can get SCAN to build you a PC out of any component they have on their site. Give them a call to talk through your specs and queries and they'll be able to answer.

Alternatively you can wait for a response here.

I suspect their "build" page has yet to be updated with Win7 etc.

Thanks for your reply, but this still does not answer my question about a sound card which in all other configurations it's shown as an option. Also, the number of USB ports on a PC is for me, important, but not mentioned anywhere.

Tbh, do a bit of research. Look up what case you are getting on the internet and see how many USB it has, look up the motherboard you are wanting to use and see how many that has.

Also..I notice no motherboard in your list..unless I am being blind..is that your error or is one not listed on the site?

Sorry to be harsh, but it isnt hard to do and doesnt take long.

The motherboard on the site is fixed, I've only listed the options that I selected. Why would I want to do research as to how may many USB ports are available on a motherboard? It should be shown on the web page, like all other sites? If Scan want me to purchase their PC's then it should all be there for me to see on the web page AND be up to date (No windows 7 shown).

If I have to do research myself, it's no problem, but it's not exactly what most users of the site would want to do - they just want to see what Scan offer on a certain configuration of their PC's.

The motherboard listed on that system has on-board audio - but if an alternative sound card is required, just select what you want from the site - and it can be added to your build.

Windows 7 is now listed on the system.

According to the motherboard info - there seems to be 6 x USB 2.0/1.1 (back panel) and 3 x USB2.0/1.1 Header (internal)

I am currently in the process of updating our workstations, these will now show Windows 7

We personally feel that onboard sound is more than enough for most workstations tasks, if you would like a sound card we can add one....

Could you list on the workstations all the available sound cards available as a drop down list so when I order it be be selected? That would then be very clear what can be ordered.

Also, if you updating this page some of the "i" information buttons as there are a few that do not show any information eg the Hard Drive Hot Swap Caddy
