My system is going into build soon. Quick Query

    Hi 3XS Build team

My system will be prepared to go into build soon.

Quick question with Acronis. If I was to not purchase this software and lets say if I got some blue screen that prevented me from going into windows and I reinstalled the OS,will I loose my Over Clock settings and 3XS configurations etc?

Or is there some form of guide I can follow in creating a recoverable hidden partition for my new system using Acronis if I buy in the near future.

Acronis comes as part of the default spec on any system purchased from the custom series.

In response to your questions, you wouldn't loose your OC settings as this is taken care of in the bios however there is an amount of configuartion to the OS on an OC system so deciding to not have Acronis installed on your system wouldn't be advisable,
We install a Secure Hidden Zone to create system snapshot before it leaves Scan but as its the retail version of Acronis not OEM you'll be able to create incremental backups as the weeks go by.
It really is well worth the money IMHO

    Hi Pete

Not that I did not want Acronis installed. I just wondered if I didn't

    Thanks for your assistance.

Re: My system is going into build soon. Quick Query

    Hi all,

On the subject of Acronis... I am currently researching and compiling a new PC build which I will probably (90% likely) be placing with scan. The issue I have is that I'm wondering if Acronis is really neccessary?

I have read reviews which haven't covered it in glory (pcpro i think) but also because I have some arcsoft back up software that came with an external drive.

I've read the comments above, and forgive my ignorance , but what would be the implications of not having this software? I'm juggling costs to try to keep close to budget and this seems unnecessary.

Also the powerDVD software (only £3 but would rather not have software I won't use - just use VLC).

    Thanks in advance

If something were to go wrong with the OS side of the system, virus, it just started running slow software wise or whatever else can go wrong, you would have to spend the time formatting and re-insalling where as with using the software, you basically just revert a saved image, which I believe also has the drives installed.

Thanks mate, one other question I forgot to ask is does it use a huge amount of hard drive space?
