Advice on new 3XS system build...

Hi guys!

New to the forum and I am looking for some advice on a new 3XS build that I have in mind.

I have my eyes on the 3XS 460 SLI OC - Custom Series and I am very excited by the prospect of it.

Apologies if these questions are on the wrong part of the forum but I was wondering:

What is the lead time on a system build if I choose the finance/pay 9 months later option?

&

What sort of testing do you guys do on the new machine before it is sent to me?

To cut a very long story short I had a rotten experience with another major UK computer supplier and in the end I had a refund as the system was faulty and quite frankly a joke! To be honest I knew I should of gone to Scan in the first place!

All being well I will hopefully be placing my order with you guys on Tuesday!

Well, my recent experience might answer one of your questions...

Ordered using finance option on the 21st August. You lose a few days sorting finance out, signing and posting paperwork, etc. But after a while I got an estimated build completion date of 21st September, so with a few days added for delivery... About 34 days for what I ordered, but they said they were unusually busy lately.

I brought a 3XS System five years ago, which took just under 10 days. Its still going strong, so they are quality builds and I don't mind waiting a month for something if its done right and going to last.

I just hope my system arrives before I leave for Copenhagen on the 23rd. :-\

Can't remember what tests they said they did from five years ago, but I remember seeing loads of benchmark results on desktop when the machine arrived.

Had a good experience back then when something went wrong too... One of the components died, and they just picked up the machine, replaced faulty stuff and shipped it back within a few days. This is the main reason I ordered from Scan again really. Knowing I have good support if needed is valuable piece of mind for me.

Welcome to Hexus and the Scan forums we are currently busy but we are tring to work off a 14 day lead time from ordering. If you decide to go with the finance option it may take longer as we have to wait from confirmation for the financing company.

All our systems get a minimum 24hr burn in test for stability we will not let a computer leave our workshop if we feel it is not stable.
