    Hi Caulkhead,

I'm glad to see that everything seems to be going smoothly now. I've pretty much been on the phone to their sales division every day the last week adding things and amending my order. Seriously I think I've been a nightmare customer but Jason on the sales team who I have been dealing with has been superb throughout and amazingly helpful. If he didn't know an answer (which was pretty uncommon) he would speak to the build team and phone me back within the hour.

I really am a bit mystified over the issues you have had as my dealings with their sales team have been exemplary throughout. I haven't dealt with the customer service team much though so maybe you were speaking with them?

Given the rigorous testing they do I'm sure your PC will be fine once it arrives. The last one I bought from them ran near flawlessly the last 2 years. Only had 1 HDD fail and even that was covered by their warranty and a replacement sent out within 48 hours. I figure I was just really unlucky with that as it was a WD Caviar Black and they are normally very reliable.

Anyway, hope you get your PC soon and that everything works fine

    Hi drharvey,

I'm sure you're right - still not sure what caused my problems but from this forum and elsewhere, it does seem I have been the exception rather than the rule and I'm happy now and looking forward to delivery!

Mines just jumped to 7 Quality Control

I reckon the work gets done, they just forget to update the status sometimes. . . . .

Or maybe they are actually getting on and building PCs. I'm sure you or anyone else would be on here like a shot and complaining if the system you have just paid a lot of money for wasn't tested properly.

I hope you're right, I've been in Quality Control for 27 hours now so they must be thorough. . . . .

Re: I'm being ignored by Scan

I rang up Scan midday yesterday and the confirmed that it was built and complete and said they'd dispatch it for delivery Saturday. I warned them I'm on the Isle of Wight and that often makes next day deliveries difficult but they rang the couriers (DPD) and confirmed they could do it. Anyway, DPD collected it Friday evening and it turned up at 1100 this morning in the pouring rain! A big thank you to everyone for making the effort at Scan even when they are short-handed and another for DPD's excellent service.

I've taken my time setting it up and the only problem I've had so far is like a complete numpty I spent half an hour with no monitor signal because I tried connecting all three different types of monitor cable to the well labeled HDMI, DVI and VGA ports on the motherboard and ignoring the unlabeled ones on the GFX card. . . . . . .

My excuse is I've been using laptops, this is my first proper desktop since about 2000!
