Yeah - not sure about the free delivery - but had noticed it in previous forum posts. Not sure if it applies to 3XS orders. But have enquired about it anyway.

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

    Hi Cactusjack.

    Looks like a great system!!!

Did you go for any overclocking in the end?

Just noticed there's something slightly odd about the details of the gfx card: 1344 Cores, 9208MHz, GDDR5

I think the 9208 is a misprint for something but not too sure what - I doubt it matters anyway!

Hoping to get mine back this week from the upgrade and waterloop rebuild - can't wait!!! It's sad but I'm looking forward to amending my sig on here, Steam and a few other forums!

I've found the sales team to be really helpful in answering all my questions about my build down to confirming Mobo BIOS and firmware revisions on SSD's.....always pays to check everything is set up exactly how you want.

Good luck with it all anyway.

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

Nope - didn't go for the overclocking in the end :-)

Yes - I noticed the misprint too - and originally thought wow - 9208!!!!

If Scan swaps the graphics card for the slightly cheap SC one - then all of my components should be in stock = quicker build time perhaps :-)

Got the 850 PSU incase I go SLI at some point in the future - thought I should future proof as much as possible.

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

I always try to over engineer on the PSU slightly if budget allows (actually - it's the first thing on my parts list so the budget always allows)!

My Corsair HX 1000 is still doing a great job and hopefully it will still be running my system 4 years and another upgrade from now

I ended up having to go for different graphics cards as they were out of stock (and still are) of the ones I originally wanted. I'm pretty sure that they let you know when they come to build it if they're still out of stock to offer alternatives if you want. Otherwise they will delay the build until the part you want is in stock.

FYI - I confirmed the other day with SCAN that they are using the latest firmware on the Crucial M4 SSD's I ordered which comes with a decent performance increase. I'm sure that it will be the same for yours too

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

Didnt get any replies to the emails I sent on Friday, so I rang Scan today. Spoke to a very polite person in Customer services who has changed my graphics card to the super clocked 4GB GTX 670 - hopefully I made the right decision here with the SC version... I recall reading about a bad batch of 2GB SC EVGA cards a while back - hopefully these are safe

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

    Hi Cactus,

I've got mine back from Scan now and it looks amazing. The build is amazingly clean considering the amount of cables and tubes that are in it.

I am so impressed with it I'll probably be posting some photo's of it at some point.

Scan were really amazing too as they were very happy to recommend minor tweaks to it which would improve the performance. They got me to change the Corsair 800D Sata backplate to a new version that supports Sata III to improve performance of my HDD's. Something that I hadn't thought of doing at all (and hadn't realised you could do). They really wanted my machine to perform up to spec and went out of their way to make it the best they could....within reasonable budget considerations

I honestly couldn't be happier with it!

Just been playing Skyrim with a whole heap of mods and it is gloriously smooth. It certainly doesn't appear that more than 2GBof VRAM are required for Skyrim at 1920x1080. I don't think there's any other texture mods I can get that I'm not already running that would improve it in any way. Certainly your 4GB GTX 670 will have bags of VRAM to run any mods you can get your hands on!

Anyway, hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine

[Edit: It's definitely worth sticking Skyrim on your SSD if you can - the area changes are next to instantaneous].

Glad to see you are happy :-)

I received my build number today. Looks like I have to wait some more though due to stock issues :-(

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

Sorry to hear about the delay. Hopefully they'll get everything in stock again soon. Is the stuff that is out of stock anything that you would be happy to swap to?

As this sale is currently on there are some great deals on various bits at the moment. Sadly I'm out of money now or I'd have probably purchased a new keyboard and mouse

Re: 3XS Order finally placed and excited :-)

A few days ago I checked online and all the items were in stock. So I am confused. Although a couple of days ago, my chosen power supply disappeared from the Scan website. I rang them up and they said dont worry - since there will be a few in stock held back for building 3xs systems. I am confused therefore as to what is out of stock..... It's ok though - I can wait
