Thanks Scan for my new system - very impressed this morning.

Thanks for the new system! Working well - installed this morning by a very nice chap in a scan t-shirt - very polite, thorough and cheerful. Rang me on the way to confirm his arrival. System is nicely packaged - he gave me a tour of the insides of the system - good protective packaging used inside the system too. He checked everything was in order and discussed my system with me.

System is so fast - works like a dream so far.

Busy installing my applications. Will post photos later

All in all, a very positive experience and worth the wait. For anyone else that is experiencing lengthy build times - it is certainly worth the wait. I have bought from at least 5 different big companies in the last 10-15 years. Scan beats them all hands down so far!

Just starting my Scan journey. Let's hope for a good 2-3 years - and if all goes well, I will be back buying a 3XS system again. Have already recommended Scan to a colleague at work who placed an order a couple of months ago. Let the good times continue!

    I spoke too soon
The two usb3 front ports seem to be problematic (whereas the back Usb3 and 2 ports seem fine). I have posted in the After Sales Support section.

Re: Thanks Scan for my new system - very impressed this morning.

Yeah - I did see your post about that.

Nothing really sprang to mind though. Especially after reading your post confirming that the rear USB3 ports work ok. I would have expected that there might be an issue wiring up all the USB ports as they could only connect 2 out of 4 of the ones at the front on mine (I think my Aquaero LCD Fan controller uses the others so that was ok for me). However nothing happens at all when I plug anything into them as opposed to your issue wherein the ports are identifying they have a peripheral attached but won't access the device properly.

Hopefully Ben will get back to you soon and I'll be interested in what the explanation is.

At least everything else seems ok? You happy with your GTX 680 so far?

[Edit: Hmm, looks as though a few are having similar issues with the case: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=107328 There are a few threads like this on the Corsair forums. Most seem to be resolved by having a new front panel sent out. No idea if this is what is affecting yours though].

Thanks drharvey - once again, you a goldmine of knowledge!

Everything else is FANTASTIC. The system is so quiet and cool! My GTX680 idles at 29 degrees!!! My Dell ATI4850 was idling at 60 something degrees!!! So this is leagues ahead of anything I have EVER experienced - such a nice feeling to be using this system.

The SSD drive is so fast!

Congrats, Cactusjack. Sounds great, build complete with me awaiting delivery time, hopefully soon.
Similar Asus P8Z77-v due here, hope the Usb3 issue resolved. Are they connected direct to second motherboard header or to rears?
    Look forward to pics!

Hi Ecosphere - I have no idea re: whether they are connected to header or rears - it all confuses me - I don't like dabbling with hardware - all confusing to me

Still... the plot thickens - my usb3 external drive is fine on the back ports (as mentioned above) - but is also fine on the front left port - it just doesnt like the front right port!
I tried a usb2 memory stick - it is fine on both front left and right ports...
Now trying a usb2 external hard drive on the front right port and it is fine...

Later this week, a usb3 memory stick will arrive - so I will try that on the front right port.

Re: Thanks Scan for my new system - very impressed this morning.

Not exactly expert myself but I think front panel Usb3 wiring options on Assus Mb are that either
cables pass through case and have to be connected at to rears. (possibility of loose connect but your symptoms don't sound like it)
Or can be connected by a sub £5 adapter to the second USB 3 header towards front bottom of Asus MB. (would seem preferable)
Sure Scan will sort it, Enjoy.

Pleased that in the main you are happy with it

I'm sure the front USB thing will be sorted. Scan were excellent with me when I had one of my HDD's fail. Got me a replacement delivered the next day no problems so I'm sure it will be sorted one way or another!

    Hi Cactusjack

Please take a photo of the rear of the system as we suspect that the case has the USB3 pass through cables
Also if possible take a photo of the internal USB headers at the bottom of the motherboard and email to systemsupport@scan.co.uk with your Build and Invoice number as the subject line and we will look at these for you

    Regards

    Ben

cactusjack, I trying to find the place where I was reading it, I think it was on corsair main website forums that, others have had the same problem as you with the front USB slots on their case's.They got a replacement front usb panel that sorted the problems. I will try later on to find the info again and post a link for you.

Well I had time and found the post I was looking for http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=107280. I know they are talking about the Carbide 300R case but it sounds like your problem. It also gives you a couple of tips to help, if it does.
