    BSOD BCCode: 116

    Greetings,

    Specs:
Intel Core i7 980X clocked to 4ghz by Scan
    ASUS SABERTOOTH X58 MoBo
    12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 1600 DOM DHX
    1536MB EVGA GTX 580

I've suddenly started getting BDOD's whenever I start playing games. The computer seems to run fine on windows desktop but as soon as I run a game I get a BSOD after a few minutes.

    I get the following error:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 2057

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 116
    BCP1: FFFFFA800E30B010
    BCP2: FFFFF8800516E6C4
    BCP3: FFFFFFFFC000009A
    BCP4: 0000000000000004
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

I've checked online and it seems to relate to the GPU.

I realise the system is out of warranty with Scan now. I'm wondering if I have any kind of warranty with EVGA, or if that warranty was void due to have a GPU cooling block attached to my 580? I didn't receive the original cooler that was on the card when I first received the PC from Scan.
If I can return it to EVGA, their website says it has to be in original factory conditions.

I've updated the graphics drivers to the latest stable Nvidia drivers.
Temps on the card are fine, they're hanging around 45c idle. It used to stick around 60c under load before I started getting these crashes

Any advice on either fixing the problem or details of warranty would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jason

The CPU is clocked to 4ghz by scan
    The GPU isn't overclocked

    Re: BSOD BCCode: 116

    Hi

The Error 116 is a failing GPU

If you registered the card for the extra warranty it will still be covered direct to Evga otherwise it is out of warranty unfortunately, we will have the original heatsink here if it needs to be sent out to you?

Please drop us an email at systemsupport@scan.co.uk

    Regards

    Ben
