    overclocking

    Hi
Forgive my ignorance, but looking to renew my tower and if there any pros and cons with buying an overclocked system as opposed to buying from the standard Scan gaming range.

    Cheers for any input

    Re: overclocking

An overclocked system is guaranteed to be stable at the settings they provide and comes with warranty. A standard system is only guaranteed at stock settings.

Is there a particular reason you want a new tower rather than just getting components for your current one? It is a lot cheaper to replace components rather than buying a fully new system.

I like to do overclocking myself so I would never purchase an overclocked system, but sometimes it is cheaper to spend money on an overclocked system than to purchase a CPU that is higher in spec so it depends on what your preferences are and whether you can justify the extra cost for the performance gain it will bring.

    Re: overclocking

    Hi David

An overclocked system will cost a bit more due to needing higher quality motherboard, CPU cooler, PSU, case.
But it will much faster than a standard gaming PC.

All our 3XS gaming desktops (whether overclocked or not) have the same 3 year warranty, the first year of which is on-site.
