    3XS Approved - Graphics Card

I was just wondering what it took for a graphics card to become 3XS approved.

The Nvidia GTX 780Ti was approved the same day as release - The AMD R9 290 however has not yet been approved (or isn't showing on the website as approved)

    Thanks

Re: 3XS Approved - Graphics Card

    Hi Mrsqueezy

Components receive 3XS Approval either through pre-testing (if we get samples in before release) or once we've sold a few and know for sure that they are good quality, stable items.

In the case of the R9 290 we simply haven't sold/installed enough yet to give it 3XS Approval. That's not to say there's anything wrong with it, we just haven't seen enough yet to be sure, and if 3XS Approval is to mean anything as it has to based on facts, not just automatic approval.

Re: 3XS Approved - Graphics Card

    Hi guys,

I've just read elsewhere that the custom coolers are likely to land in the middle of January which is slightly frustrating

How is the approval process going on the reference R9 290's?

Great choice on those EVGA cards, I think you'll both be very happy with them.

Re: 3XS Approved - Graphics Card

Thank you for the prompt reply. Apologies for being vague, was wondering when the 3GB EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC w/ACX would be available in 3XS systems?

    Thanks again

Re: 3XS Approved - Graphics Card

We don't/can't list every variation on a GPU on the configurator as you'd end up scrolling half and hour between sections in your web browser. However, having seen the EVGA 780 Ti ACX myself I can confirm it is a great card.

BTW, if you can't see the specific component you want listed on the configurator you can request it to be installed in your 3XS PC. We'll just need to get one of our tech team (i.e. somebody like me) to check that's compatible then we can amend your order.

Ok thanks, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and building the system myself. If I change my mind I'll get in touch
