Question Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE or Gigabyte Z87 Sniper M5

    Hi all,

I've got my eye on the 3XS Z87 Nanu GTX, but I can't decide between the Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE or Gigabyte Z87 Sniper M5 motherboards...

The Asus has the mPCIe Combo II, which allows for on-board Wi-Fi, but I've heard the on-board audio isn't that great. The Gigabyte has onboard Creative sound, but no Wi-Fi capabilities.

Are there any other real differences?

Can anyone help me make up my mind?

    Thanks!

I have gone for the Sniper for the onboard Creative sound in exactly the same system, unless there is an external aerial on board Wi-Fi in a case is not going to be great.

    Thanks for the reply.

I ended up going with the Asus board and using a dedicated sound card - I guess I'm a bit of an Asus fanboy at heart, and the design of the board also suit the system better. From what I have read online, you can't really go far wrong with either, but I also think the layout of the Gigabyte looks better for SLI systems.
