Zotac FG9300-D-E ITX motherboard RMA

Hi Scan, I contacted you guys via email regarding the return of a Zotac FG9300-D-E ITX motherboard.
My Query No. was <removed>, but I'm yet to get a response.

I'm basically looking to get the board RMA'ed.

The main fault is well documented on the Zotac support forum....

On the 10/07/2009 I purchased a Zotac FG9300-D-E ITX motherboard from Scan, the invoice number was <removed>.
Since the day of installation I've not been entirely happy with the motherboard, the 1st issue I ran into was it not supporting my dell 3007wfp monitors native resolution of 2560x1600.

Also I later found that it was one of the few boards that did not have powered USB's when in S3 standby (cannot be brought out of standby with keyboard or mouse like most other motherboards).

Amongst other little niggling issues I've actually managed to deal with the motherboard up until now.

Less than a week ago the system developed a fault where it would hang at the post screen saying "Verifying DMI..." after a little time I managed to get the pc to at least attempt to load windows by going into the bios and selecting "safe loading settings" unfortunately this issue corrupted the OS and I lost all my data.
I've now reloaded a fresh install of XP Pro but the dual core processor (E3200) I ran in the system is now only recognised as a single core in the bios post screen. I reset the CMOS to defaults but the CPU is still only running as a single core.
I asked a few questions on the Zotac support forum and a member told me that other people which also have the version 1 board have been hanging at the post screen saying "Verifying DMI..." and that there was a new bios version that hopefully sorts the know issue.
Sure enough there was an updated bios on the Zotac support site that stated....

"Version 2K091009
.Fixed power up "Verifying DMI..." hangup issue"

I quickly re-flashed the board in the hope that it would sort my issue out of the missing cpu core but unfortunately it did not.

This weekend I tried the CPU in my other socket 775 system and this confirmed that the CPU has been damaged by the Zotac motherboard and it is now only showing up as a single core processor.

I must apologize for this long email but I've struggled with this board for a good few months and now the board has become so unstable it is damaging my hardware. All these issues seem to be known to Zotac so all I can assume is that this early revision board is very badly made and this is why they so quickly brought out a replacement in the Zotac GF9300-I-E version board.

I would like to RMA this board for the replacement Zotac GF9300-I-E version as soon as possible, which has addressed all the issues I have experienced.

I look forward to your reply and I hope to have my system up and running reliably as soon as possible.

Hi Scan, Could I possibly have an update on the progress of my RMA please? my RMA number is 217977.

According to the tracking details the board was delivered to you guys on the 04/02/10 last week.

I really need a replacement as the pc down time is causing problems!

Absolutely nothing, Scan well and truly messed me about buddy.

I had to fork out for a new board in the end because the version I had was riddled with problems like the pooling DMI post issue which happens 1 out of 10 times it rebooted, it was simply not usable in an everyday work machine.

I hoped they would be familiar with the problems this board was plagued with and all the documented issues that were out there, but they simply wouldn’t except or acknowledge any of it!

Scans black or white half-arsed way of diagnosing machines and lack of interest in helping me was a real eye opener. Naturally I have a different view of their customer service now.
