    Intel Pentium Hot hot hot...

    Hi,

Today I bought an Intel Pentium E6700 for yourselves, and its been running all day.
Its concerning me on the Intel HSF its idling at 47C and Underload its touch 71C!

Now having come from an earlier C2D, isn't this alarmingly hot?
    Case temp is 33C.

Could it be an issue with the HSF or the chip itself? As I thought these new 45nm cpus ran far cooler than the old conroes?

    Cheers

    Craig

Re: Intel Pentium Hot hot hot...

    Hi iCraig,

That's a little too hot according to the Intel spec; http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27251

I'd advise double checking the pushpin connectors are all the way through on the motherboard, a reseat maybe and give it another test. If the same symptoms occur, I'd suggest requesting an RMA. What case and GPU do you have?
