Unwanted Scansure keeps being added to basket!

    Hi,

I just placed an order for the g15 keyboard and de-selected Scansure twice but when I got to the order complete page it has added it again! I had to remove it again after entering my card details and god knows how its managed to get back on there.
I know its only £1.59 but its not needed for a product like this and its a little annoying after removing it.
Can I have this refunded please? The invoice number is E1516821.

    Thanks,

    George

P.S. Sweet deal on this in the today only section, thanks for that! Also wanna say that DPD were much better on my last delivery, got an ETA and they showed up on time. Hopefully the teething problems are over.

Can't really call it a trap when it is pretty obvious that scansure is there.

Our records show that your order has been completed. Unfortunately, at this stage we are unable to remove or refund the Scansure charge from your invoice as the insurance is activated on delivery.

Scansure has been fully tested and this service cannot re-add once removed fully through the 2 click process.

    Best Regards

Re: Unwanted Scansure keeps being added to basket!

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. A couple of points:
The Scansure may well be 'fully tested' but I removed this item twice yet when I get to the order complete stage it had re-appeared on there! At this point the money had been taken so what else could I do?

Also why should I have to 'opt-out' of this? I don't agree with things being added to my basket without my specifically selecting it first. Why in gods name would I want this for a keyboard? How am I going to damage this during installation?

Again its only a small amount but its very annoying, and quite devious to add this to all orders so we have to de-select it. Its even more annoying when you de-select it but you still get charged for it!

EDIT - you may want to re-test as when you go down the order page you have to enter your card details. When you do this the page refreshes and the Scansure is selected again.

I have personally thoroughly tested the particular scenario of Scansure being able to re-add itself once successfully removed and can confirm this cannot happen. If you can re-produce this scenario we will look into this again for you.

This has been tested and just re-tested, Scansure was removed, CC details entered and the order completed. Scansure did not re-add itself.

If this was the case then every order, where Scansure was removed, would come through with Scansure, causing every order to come though with Scansure added and also your previous order's would have also come through with Scansure, which is not the case and were processed without Scansure.

It might be due to the browser you are using. I've never had any problems with it... and I always de-select it!

Re: Unwanted Scansure keeps being added to basket!

Hmmm, dunno. I recently started using the Firefox beta so perhaps this could be an issue. Was using Chrome when I placed my last order.

Screw it - I'll chalk this one down to experience and pay special attention on future orders. Not worth the hassle.
