Hi
Sorry for the late reply. Due to the unusual nature of the failure on this board we will need to return the board to our supplier/MSI to investigate how it is that the power regulation on the board seems to have failed in such catastrophic fashion.
I will keep you updated as to the progress. I note that DPD have delivered your CPU to us this morning and this will also be in the process of being booked in for testing.
Regards
Mark, finally. Thanks for the info.
Hardly unusual judging by the web chatter and MSI VRM problems but hey.
Just need to be kept informed. An email stating 'REJECTED' and nothing else is not what I wouldd consider good communication but thanks for your reply.
Regards
Gary

Hi Gary,
My "unusual" comment was based on our sales/returns figures for this particular board, 61 sold since Aug11 and 1 back through RMA (besides your own) I tend not to read much into web chatter/forums too much as I can find problems with any product if I look for it.
Admittedly I do find MSI's "note2" on the product page a little worrying...
Regards
I agree with you, and I too don't as a rule but I only sought further clarification after reading the 'NOTE2' and in particular because I had specified the FX 8120 which is a 125W chip.
The failure points to the very issue they have added a note for.
Regards
Gary
The RMA for the AMD FX 8120 has been updated to Awaiting Replacement/Credit.
Any idea how long until the replacement get shipped out.
Thanks
Spoke to Returns today, the replacement 8120 will be shipped today or tomorrow so no complaints at all on the service and turnaround time.
Will await MSI response to the return of the sub-standard 760GM-E51 FX. Either way I wouldn't touch MSI with a barge pole after this.
Thanks again
Gary
I would get in contact with them and send them forum links of the issues,to show what happened to your motherboard is not a one off! If there are any relevant forum posts on the MSI forums I would definitely send them in the e-mail.
Already have given links, post #14. There are far more.
Any idea if my replacement 8120 will be shipped today. Your website is showing them in stock.
The RMA was approved Wednesday morning.
I really need to get my server up and running.
Thanks

Still no reply, can someone update me please.
Email from Mark, replacement now on its way RMA completed for the CPU.
Will await the outcome of MSI investigation into the blown motherboard.
Thanks
Gary
Looks like it's not coming out tonight as promised, no invoice or tracking number.
Why am I surprised.
The replacement CPU wasn't despatched Friday as promised and no further news so far today.
Not my idea of good customer service.
Another email from Mark. Item will be with me today so it appears it was despatched Friday but I did not receive notification or tracking number.
Thanks
Hi Gary,
I can confirm the replacement CPU was dispatched on Friday as I promised.
Tracking has been available since Friday afternoon via the following link:

Please make use of the tracking services we provide before you question our commitment to customer service.
