    670 FTW issues

    Hi guys,

Brought a pair of 670 FTW's and one of them is faulty. Temps never break 71 on full load and in sli I was experiencing crashing and all sorts.

So after trying drivers, bios updates, Bios settings, new windows installs and even different hard drives and psus I had to try cards on their own.

One card crashes under load with either vantage or furmark with little green squares etc and one so far seems ok.

I need it swapped out for a new one, if I send it back to scan will you just swap it with a new one? I dont want to be hanging around waiting for you to send it back to Evga when I might as well send it to them directly myself. But if you will just take one from stock and replace then I will do it through you guys

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks

    Pete

I think they generally send them back to EVGA as with most warranty faults. Your probably going to be waiting for an answer here a while so book a RMA/Ticket and/or give them a ring for a quicker answer.

Believe that going direct you can also ask for a replacement first to be delivered but guess you won't need that service as you have one already.

Yeah I think your right, if they are going to just return the card to EVGA I might as well do that myself and cut out the middle man

Only good thing is if the RMA postal location is expensive to post to it better to let Scan post it on for you. I don't think EVGA is too bad though.

Just an update for anyone that searches for issues etc.

I contacted scan got told that despite Sales of goods regulations they would send my card off to EVGA and await for a replacement from them before sending me the card they get back from EVGA. Which they estimated to take 3-4 weeks. For a card that was faulty on arrival!

It should be noted that this is against Sales of Goods rules and is quite crap tbh.

So I phoned EVGA spoke to one of thier guys in Germany and got an instant RMA number, it cost me £23 to post to them. They received the card on a Wednesday, on the Thursday morning there was a new one on its way to me and on Friday I had a replacement on my door.

That is how you deal with faulty cards when they are effectively DOA

Scan should learn from EVGA on this one.

    Re: 670 FTW issues

    Hi,

This is incorrect, providing the goods returned to SCAN are confirmed to be faulty and we have stock available we will provide you with a free of charge replacement usually within 3 - 5 working days of receipt.

There are exceptions where this may not happen for example if the returned item is no longer available, or if the returned item is found to have damage or the serial number is missing etc etc then we may have to return to our supplier on your behalf which can incur a delay of up to 28 days.

Do you have details of the person you spoke to at SCAN? if not could you please PM me with the number you called from and I will try to trace your call to the staff member you spoke to to ensure that the information being relayed to our customers is accurate.

    Regards
