faulty agility 3
hi scan
i purchased a system and have had issues with it ever since. the computer randomly switches itself off, take a while to initiate boot up and crashes on its own. the message today was disc failure and it promptly re-boots. on start up it says detecting o/s. the drive was recently re-installed with a fresh windows instal and with AHCI selected before hand.
i have tested the ram, corsair value, and reported no errors after several hours and you can see the rest of the system by the order number.
can i assume the 120 gig agility 3 ssd is faulty?
i have an external usb 3 HDD caddy which when i put it in windows didn't recognise and it wouldn't instal device driver. also the OCZ toolbox didn;t even see it there either.
i have installed a sandisc 120 gig ssd ultra drive in its place and booted into windows within about 10 seconds. it is also running flawlessly.

Re: faulty agility 3
hi mick
i have emailed you back. hopefully with the screen print of silverdisc.
i think its faulty. my system detects it, let's me format it but strange things happen to my system. it also refuses to update its firmware, get's to 883 blocks of download and then fails. using newest oca flash toolbox.

Re: faulty agility 3
thanks mick.
is it a faulty SSD then, i believe it is, as i don;t want to go through organising a courier with you, your RMA department putting it in a system and saying it works and then me paying £40 for a send back.
if theres anything else you can think of me doing, let me know. did you receive the email and silverdisc screen prt?

Re: faulty agility 3
silent,
If possible could you please upload the image here and I will pass it over to our testing team.
I can't say for sure that it’s a faulty SSD until it has been tested, if the drive is misbehaving in two separate systems and is refusing a firmware update then I can only assume it has a fault.
Kind regards,

Re: faulty agility 3
ok, i'll try and upload it here tonight for you. i did email it to you last night though so you should have it.

Re: faulty agility 3
hi mick
i knew this would happen, i said it. you have sent an email back saying no fault found on the drive.
since replacing the SSD with a Sandisc one the system has been running smoothly for my customer, no crashes what so ever. before with the agility, crashed all the time. has the testers plugged it on, installed windows and run the system for a few days? i doubt it but thats what u need to do.
where do we go from here, because i want a replacement as it is clearly faulty. i did say that it is recognised with windows and i cut and pasted a screen print into the body of an email i sent you, not an attachment, but your system couldn't see it.
can u advise me where i can go with this now. it is faulty in my eyes as the system has been stable and running great since it was replaced.
regards
ian
