Compact keyboard missing key
Recently bought two Compoint, Compact Travel Keyboards, as they looked ideal for the build bench
LN67863, CP-K7070
Amongst all the unnecessary multimedia and embedded number pad keys , there doesn't appear to be any way to type a backslash character '\'. The keyboard is advertised as suitable for Windows, Mac and Linux. A backslash is pretty fundamental to operating those systems.
I am struggling to believe that in 2017 manufacturers are still building keyboards lacking such an essential character. Am I being thick here? Is there some modifier I am missing?
Re: Compact keyboard missing key
Does the age old keeping hold of ALT and typing 92 give a backslash? Bit of a PITA, but should work.
Re: Compact keyboard missing key
Ignore that - the keyboard has no Num Pad either!
Re: Compact keyboard missing key
Looking at the image on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/COMPOINT-CP.../dp/B019NCU8SO) the backslash should be under the backspace (the # key on the image on Scan). Try pressing the # and see what you get. You might have a US version?

Ahh. Managed to coax a backslash out of Windows by pressing [Alt Gr] + [#]
Doesn't work on a Mac/OSX and I haven't tried Linux yet.
The problem came to light when we were trying to restore an image from the network after booting into Acronis (Linux). Pretty sure I tried the Alt gr + #, combination in my frustration. Maybe not.
Bit of a shame it's not straight forward as otherwise it's not a bad keyboard, especially for a fiver.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
