Conserned goods may have been used

    Hi,

I've jost spent £1000 buying kit for a new system and I'm concerned that the Core i7 9700KF has clearly been opened and used.

You can see in the pics below that the seal has been broken on the box,and close ups of the edges show thermal compound residue.

    Can somebody please explain?

After speaking with Jack in Customer Services it appears the processor was picked from the wrong location and likely been with their 3XS team.

Return and replacement offered. Polite and professional response.

    Will update when resolved fully

Re: Conserned goods may have been used

I have had this twice with Scan now, both times I have been assured I was the first person to receive the items.

First was a thermal take case that had a crack in the plastic and some of the sticky pads you apply to the glass top panel had already been applied.

Second was my z490 aqua motherboard. Seal was broken on the box and when I opened it the IO shield was bent out of place. Both returned and replaced no questions, but very frustrating, especially with a £1000 motherboard.

Recently received an Asus GT501 that also seemed to have been previously used, at first I put it down to a one off but after reading this thread it makes you wonder.
