Thread: faulty xfi oem soundcard?

    faulty xfi oem soundcard?

    Hi i purchased an oem SB XFI soundcard from scan a couple of days ago and i am having trouble with my gfx card(gainward bliss 512mb 7800gs+ also from scan).

    i get an error under my gfx card saying that it has no resources for it to start. This started happening has soon as i installed the new soundcard. The gfx card works flawless when i physicly take out the soundcard from the mobo. i have made a thread about this problem in the hardware section of this forum

    for some odd reason it seems like my gfx card doesnt like working alongside this soundcard.

    here are my specs:

    intel p4 northwood 3.2ghz
    2gb corsair value ram ddr
    abit ic7 mobo.

    which PCI slot you put the X-Fi into? maybe some IRQ conflict there IIRC the PCI that next to AGP slot share the same IRQ with AGP slot so if you put ur X-fi there then try it on different slot

    yea i tried other slots on my pci and it still diddnt work. the gfx card takes up the next slot that is next t it anyway because of its cooler.

    Ok thanks i have filled out a rturns query has requested.

    quick note: can the problem be that the gfx card is using ALL resources from the other pci cards?
