    Delivery Speed

    Hi Scan Peeps...

Ok, I ordered a monster of a PC from you guys just over a week ago, and after discovering the RAM had gone out of stock I finally removed the ram from the order and ordered it elsewhere and everything arrived on Friday.

As Im sure you can tell, this weekend was spent building the new PC. Here's the sad part, the RAM which I purchased elsewhere is faulty. :'( So this will be returned, but that's going to take too long for me because I'm impatient! Whats worse, is that the supplier of the RAM now has no stock!!!

Strangely enough, good ole' Scan now has the item back in stock. So I'm going to return the duff RAM to my original supplier for a refund, and place an order for new RAM from you guys...

Only thing is, I've proceeded to the checkout and it says estimated delivery is for Friday... Does it really take 4 days to pick and pack memory If I place the order this morning whats the chances of it being despatched today for delivery tomorrow.

PS: I have a linked HEXUS account, so qualify for free delivery, is this the reason for the slow delivery??

Awaiting your reponse before I press the proceed button on my basket

    Cheers

    Barry

Thanks for the response, but that appears to be related to part shipped orders. Im not complaining about my original order speed at all, but trying to ascertain if I place an order today for a single instock item wether it will be shipped today or not, as the estimated delivery date in the basket is for Friday...

Well, I've just read that post again, and I can't see anything about it "taking time" to process normal orders, but taking time to implement changes to enable part shipment of orders.

I don't need a part shipment, I just want a quick shipment of an instock item if I place the order.... 4 days is pretty poor really, most are next day... I'm fairly certain Scan can delivery next day, when I altered my previous order, they shipped the goods the same day and were delivered the next... That's why I'm querying why the estimated delivery time is 4 days for a single instock item...

Can a man from Scan please confirm for me?

    Thanks

Exactly correct as per this post. Give Sales a ring, sometimes they have a slighty quicker turnround if we have received a large amount of online orders.

I have placed large and small orders a few times with scan and the expected delivery date is always four days from when I order.

My guess is that your opting for the free carriage, also if you click the calendar you can change the delivery date, am guessing you have tried this?

Well, I couldn't opt out of the free carriage that I could see. And the calender only offered dates from 4 days onwards...

Oh well, I ordered it from Scan this morning anyway, as Corsair Dominator memory seems to be like rocking horse do do's at the minute.

Hopefully they will turn it around quicker.... I MUST HAVE MY NEW PC RUNNING

Free Carriage or not, it is exactly the same either way. The improvements are almost complete, new procedures are going live all the time, this should be reflected in delivery times shortly.

A cheat to get it sooner is if you order it on a thursday or friday and go for saturday delivery. Very very expensive though

I'm in the same situation ordered on Friday about midday, and the earliest date I was given was Wednesday , I'm just very impatient. And I've got to make another order this week and I hate waiting 4-5 days for something when it could be here the next day, oh they were the days.
