    P180 case Fan Connector Headache

Hi All I am a new member with a problem. Can anyone please help me I purchased all the parts from Scan to build a PC. Everything was going well until I tried to connect the P180 case fans. The case fans have molex? type connectors but the connectors on the Asus P5B-E Plus are totally different. Do I need to buy another cable or am I missing something. Any Help would be much appreciated.

The fans included with my P180 case connect to the molex connectors of the PSU and not the M/B. They should have low/mid/high switches with them. You will need to buy different fans if you want your M/B to control them: you could butcher the connectors but the M/B would not be able to 'read' the speed of them.

I have a P180 and it can be a bit annoying with those fans. TBH I replaced two with Nexus fans (which are near enough silent) and leave the third on low, all hooked up to Molex connectors. A fan controller might be another good solution.

I've got a P180, and I agree - big mistake by antec not to make the fans with mobo header's rather than molex connectors.

What I do however, is unscrew the two top left fans and rotate the round so that the white 'control' wire's are able to be routed out the 1st PCI slot. Also, the front can be slipped underneath the fan dust guard so that all controls are externally accessible.

TBH the fans stay on low, apart from when i'm seriously overclocking (Pentium D 805 @ 4.1Ghz 3d stable with a Tuniq Tower Gotta get my Xeon 3060 clocking now...)
