bigest difference in rev's is between rev .2 and .3 alowing PCI-X and PCI connection (server and workstation PCI not PCI-e) at last i can finaly fit one without a juryrig!
i thik the bigest change from .1 to .2 was the reduction in the powerusage flaw which drained the battery VERY fast with card unpluged from Mboard

Sorry not alowed to post links or id show you pics of each revision ( the picture in scan website is of a revision .1 board btw (can tell by the extra caps at botom left instead of a "button"?

if as you say it is rev 3 id have been interested in it when i was ordering all my watercooling stuff IF it had shown up in a search for "iRAM" on site!!!

and IF i hadent just fried my memory(im praying only) with a koolance RAM-30 waterblock *looks shamfuly at feet* prity much best memory water cooler on market but doesent work so well when you "see if it fits" then rush off to work while its still on with no water in it!!! i blame scan for not selling them and closing for christmass(with my MORA rad in warehouse), not myself for being an impatient idiot!

once i get my watercooling sorted and also my rather tatered looking creditcard ill definatly be thinking about iRAM, just wish there ws a molex power input(or that somone sold daughterboards to power RAIDs of them!), and that the original price quoted from gigabyte was true (£40)....not the standard £85+ most sell them for

lol yes 4 GiG max is a little small by todays standards of 500+ Gig harddrives....but lets not forget this isent aimed as mass storage device, but for pure performance/cost it cant realy be beaten, runing at about 100x random access score of a HD and a constant throughput of 150( SATA 1....unles they have upgraded to SATA2 via a bios update) its a device made for system/swap/database/braging rights
Talking of DB, iv read of folk using multiple iRAM(they had access to PCB manufacturing to make a 16 card boards to be run from a single RAID card) and good SATA RAID cards to make drives that outperform RAMSAN's hands down and for a fraction of the cost, they had trouble finding good RAID cards for the job if i remember rightly, not many on market can suport even a fraction of iRAMs bandwidth!

PS looks like my ram was ok......my cd drive= rubish at reading windows install disk and somhow my HD forgot what it was.....low level format seems to have worked but if it breaks its a good excuse to fork out for iRAM!!!
