Question Moderate GPU PCI-E < £70

Hi,

Have an order ready to go with scan, but cannot make a decision regarding a GPU.

My MOBO is the P5B-MX/Wifi, which has the GMA 3000 onboard.

I plan to fit an C2D E4400, 2x512 Corsair and want to run Vista Premium (Aero). My main software is Photoshop CS2.

I would play an occasional game, but am not a "gamer".

Thanks for any advice...

n.b. Is DX10 a must for new GPU card with Vista?

Is that price with or without VAT?

If your saying without VAT then you could get the following card on the todayonly section of the website ;

256MB Palit 8600GT, PCI-E (x16), Mem 1400MHz, GDDR3, GPU 540MHz, 2x Dual Link DVI-I/HDTV £69.00 £81.08

This would be ideal for your use as well as the occasional game.

In regards to the DX10 side of things, nothing really takes advantage of these as yet, but they are planned for release and updates soon.

Best Regards,

Thanks Lee...

I was actually thinking after VAT! I know I'm a bit of a cheapo, but for now, I would like something that will ease the system RAM while running Vista...

Or do you think the GMA 3000 will do for now, and I should save up and get a card later in the year?

Cheers
A

I would go with saving, either that or a 7600GT.
