    OCZ Memory...Scan Missing The Boat

    Scan.....
Please...please....please start stocking a better selection memory as currently its VERY poor.

I have 2gb of OCZ Platinum and require a further 2gb but i'm being forced to spend elsewhere (which i would rather not do).

Although Corsair is decent enough, not everyone wants to buy it.
You guys really need to get a choice going on your website as im sure you are missing out on sales. Its so confusing as everything else you stock has a good selection ??????

EVERY other etailer seems to have a good selection except you.

Please do something about this as i would much rather push my cash in your direction.

    May i suggest stocking:
    OCZ
    Patriot
    Geil
    G-Skill

It is a shame. There's memory just as good, if not better than the Corsair equivalent, for much less. Scan's only weak point. We've heard it all before though.

Personally I wouldn't touch any memory other than Corsair
Just seen the old thread (thanks), and this was DaveM from Scans point.

Well Dave....maybe you wouldnt but there are ALOT of us that dont want Corsair as there there is other memory just as good which many of us would prefer.

Surely, being a big company for enthusiasts, these points should be taken on board so that all the customers have a choice of what they buy. That makes very good business sense doesn't it?

Im just trying to make a point that loyal Scan customers wish to remain loyal but can't when the choice is limited for no apparent reason.

Are you allowed to divulge why the choice isn't available and we can only buy Generic or Corsair.

Corsair is very good memory, but it is expensive and the range is rather limited, for example no 2x2GB kits. Patriot, OCZ and Geil already have these kits out for around £170. Which most people building around now will be seriously considering. I'm getting the patriot kit next time payday comes around actually.

Matched Dual Channel sets with nice tight timings, do corsair do these?

Have always invested in Geil memory, the ultra platinum and golden dragon stuff is excellent.

Corsair memory is excellent. Plenty of tight timing stuff if you have the cash.

Just that there is as good and better available which you dont have to pay a 'name-premium' for thats all.

Maybe but i hope you are wrong on that one.

I can't see why Scan would rather keep a supplier happy as opposed to their customers ....

We shall see come Monday morning ......

They are probably making more money out of selling corsair than the other brands, and they like them because corsair are a top brand who businesses can relay upon more than the others, and corsair probably pay them more for just selling their stuff.

That would make sense (and it's fairly easy to try to), but I've just compared 2 2x1gb DDR2 kits to the same on a competitors store, and in both instances the competitor was cheaper.

'In bed' or not, there's a very clear link between Corsair and Scan, and indeed Hexus between the 2 for that matter. Just wish they would put to bed, so to say, stock some others, let us decide which we think is best and give us all some variation. Worried the Corsair sales will slow if there are better value options?

    Possibly yes.
I dunno about Geil and Patriot but i have used OCZ many times for other things (1st time with their RAM though), and i have found the OCZ RMA process the best i have ever come across. (i had to RMA a 520 Powerstream and it only took 4 days from me posting the unit to receiving a brand new one back - they cross-shipped which is almost unheard of now).

I went for OCZ RAM for this reason and im glad i did. I am also sure that its just as good as the Corsair one aswell.
