Hi all - just a quick question, what parts would qualify to let me get hold of an oem version of vista?
To qualify for the OEM operating system you need to purchase one of the following items at the same time ;
CPU, Memory, HDD Motherboard, PSU, or a Chassis.

It used to also be keyboard/mouse/floppy, does this not qualify anymore ? surely a floppy atleast should qualify as its an internal component ? cpu cooler could also be argued, as that may also be used in the final build..
Please start selling 16MB memory sticks again :p
You did used to be able to buy OEM with a mouse :rockon2: it does state "non peripheral component" now though. Which theoretically means an IDE cable would qualify :crazy: It is inevitably upto the retailer thoughQuote:

I'm sure you can buy systembuilder packs without hardware. I have done in the past - they come in a brown box, and when you open that you take on the agreement that Scan have done - ie you can't sell it without hardware.
Yea mine came in a white pack and I can't remember buying any hardware with it. Nothing integral anyway. I don't think...
