Failed!
After a days wait my order never even reached the picking point.
It did reach the payment point very quickly though!
Cancelled my order and will get somewhere else - shame.

Mine was delivered this morning at 7.40am. Ordered on Tuesday IIRC.
If you are getting free delivery i don't think you should complain guys.
Not that I don't appreciate the free delivery, especially when looking at some of OcUK's ridiculous delivery charges, but they can easily absorb the delivery charges when they know that customers will return for business as a result of it again and again. Free delivery because of loyalty does not void your right to have an opinion on the service in question. It's like going to Boots and getting a free canister of shaving gel every time I spend 30 quid. Doesn't mean I can't complain if they deliver it late.
The original problem in this thread was about the long delivery times when placing an order.
If an order fails there must be a reason for it, coming on here and just going oh am cancelling my order wont help anyone really.
Ive found rather than creating a topic, PM one of the SCAN guys, ChrisP and Lee @ SCAN are always around and i always get quick replies.
If anyone has an issue regarding an outstanding order please raise a query via the following link so we can resolve this for you.

Now THIS is a JOKE! Don't get me wrong, you can get GREAT Customer Service from SCAN, but you have to phone or post in this thread to do so.
I posted a problem call 10 Days ago - using this web form method regarding a new system build with all new parts supplied by Scan that would not POST successfully and issed an error message:-
CPU is unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck - CPU SoftMenu
...and nothing would get round this - so was it a duff E4300 (rather unusal) or a duff Motherboard? Would I need to RMA? Had I missed anything?
I get the comforting message that the call has been logged.... and I have heard nothing since! Nada. Zilch. In 10 Days!!! I used this method once before a few months back - same result - so that was not an isolated incidend it seems - and then I had to phone to get a solution after waiting nearly two weeks for a response.
This time I got the solution - a BIOS update - from the abit forum.
If you want customer sevice from SCAN; phone, or post here it seems.
SCAN delivery times are reasonable, not always quick, but they don't promise quick so that is no problem for me. The point re ScrewFix is valid - I use them all the time and they never cease to amaze me - I have ordered vua the internet at 20:11 one night, and got FREE delivery the next morning! I don't know how they do it, but they do! SCAN currently cannot process and pick in that league of timeframe - we simply have to accept that.
Overall I really like SCAN, but the web form submitted Customer Service is a joke.

Please can you PM me the OLQ number / invoice number or your real name and post code so I can update you on the status of your query
Best Regards
EtheAv8r im pretty sure ChrisP cant spend his entire day going through PM's.
I did read something the other day stating he had met his PM quota, whatever that means.
Maybe try PM'ing him again.

I don't seem to have received your PM.
Please could you re-sen through and I will take a look

Chris
I just placed an order on your site and was told the earliest delivery date i could get it was next monday, on one hand fair enough, your being honest and giving me a date you know you can hit, I appreciate that.
On the other hand, its making me order a lot of parts from other places, because im impaitent and dont want to wait that long. Today my order came to around 210-220, if i knew i could get delivery this week, i would have also ordered a laptop and laptop accessories to my order which alone came to around 1100, unfortunately i ordered these from somewhere else.
Im not knocking scan at all, as i really think the service i have got from them over the many years has been absolutely fantastic (I have an order showing in my history from 2001, although i think ive ordered stuff before that date). However the long delivery times are forcing me to look elsewhere. Do you have a timeframe on when you expect to get these times down?
toytown.
Please PM me the invoice number
Best Regards
Remember that delivery times on the first day after bank holiday have to reflect several days worth of orders.
Chris
Its not that im not happy with the monday delivery date. Im perfectly happy with that, as that is what was stated before i confirmed my order. My issue is that i have had to place an order on a competitiors site for 5x the amount of money i had spent at scan today (ok maybe not 5x the profit though), due to the long delivery times, where i would have loved to have ordered everything from scan at once.
Now if i do that, im sure others are doing it also, or maybe its just me because im impaitent
I appreciate that, but other competitors are able to guarantee me delivery for tommorow, fair enough they maybe smaller companies who dont have the same volume of orders, but they can deliver and for some items where i just cant wait, unfortunately it means they get my money instead of scan.Remember that delivery times on the first day after bank holiday have to reflect several days worth of orders.
The estimated dispatch dates are calculated every day, based on the volume of outstanding orders and stock.
At the moment due to high volumes the estimated dispatch dates are a little longer than usual to cope with this increased amount of Business.
We feel it better to be open and honest in regards to the dispatch dates.
It would be wrong to compare dispatch dates between companies and the amount of business between company's will vary.
We appreciate the requirement for speedy deliveries hence the massive upgrades to our warehouse we are currently undergoing to combat the increase in business we are experiencing.
This link should explain this in more detail
