I'm wanting to build a Media Centre PC and keep it as quiet as possible so I've opted for a AMD AM2 Motherboard with onboard VGA (ATI X1200) to keep the PC silent but I'm worried about the PSU. A lot of them have silent or quiet names or claims but I don't want to buy one that is like a jet engine. Any suggestions more than welcome and I'm trying to keep the cost down so my max in £40-£50.

seasonic always make good quiet psu's. Depends on your case size what you will be able to fit and you might need to up your budget

Just finished a similar box. Used the Seasonic 330W - did wonder if it'd be big enough, but box runs at 45W input at idle with Cool'n'Quiet enabled (55W without). Don't know how noisy the PSU is, as I can't hear it over the [quiet] case and CPU!
Also used the Asus MA2-VM HDMI mobo, so equivalent of ATI 1250.
Watch the CPU cooler; the stock one isn't too bad bit it's worth spending a bit on a replacement and slowing it down a bit. Also case fans need to be quiet (it's a good idea to have a fan blowing in on to the HDD).

Corsair PSU's are good.... mainly because Seasonic make them!

The Corsair HX power supplies are also extremely good and quiet, but generally overpowered just to run a media center pc so save the money and go for a lower powered Seasonic S12.
