    Saturday Delivery w/ Scan

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to get an idea on how reliable Scan are with Saturday deliveries... I've read around a little on these forums and elsewhere.. and it appears there are issues... and i'm a little worried...

If i do choose to pay the exorbitant fee and go down the Saturday route- what policy is in place if nothing comes through on Saturday?

Furthermore, is it possible to put in a special request to get the driver/depo to call me when the driver arrives at my building? - I live in an apartment complex, where the driver would need to buzz through to me on the intercom... I've had issues with CityLink drivers having a problem getting through to me before... I can never fathom why though, would have thought they'd deal with such a system many times a day - they don't card you in such a situation too... which is also quite bizarre

Placed my order earlier today... hope it comes through this Saturday - am at work during the week and its too large a shipment to get sent there... and the citylink depo is a fair distance away from me ... if anything I'd have to wait another weekend :'(

Quick question, if you're entitled to the Hexus free delivery and you choose Satuday delivery, do you get the full fee refunded if it fails?

Hexus free delivery is only the standard next day (ie not the premium Saturday delivery)

I think what he means is if Saturday Delivery fails (You would pay a premium for that initially) and they reschedule a 'regular' delivery for you, are you refunded the full amount.

Normally you would be refunded the saturday fee minus the fee for regular delivery - given Hexus users get free regular delivery... should we get a full refund?

This all comes down to City Link - not Scan.

Some people will get Saturday deliveries %100 time due to their City Link branch staff,

Others like myself will get them %0 of the time.

What ever happens its not physically Scans fault as once they hand the package to City Link, there is nothing can really do to make sure the driver turns up on time.

From what your saying you've had problems before and you live a fair distance from the depot (like me) you mat be in for a rough ride - you may not.

What ever the outcome, speak to Scan and they will do their best to resolve it, I will assure you of that.

If you get a refund you get a refund of the additional charges for the Saturday delivery, not the full ammount. In my eyes, this is a very poor call due to the fact that if city link don't turn up on Saturday, they still make money, there is no real punishment for them not turning up on Saturday, which is perhaps one of the reason they get away with it. If you get the full ammount refunded and they have to make the delivery for free, then I'm sure they would be more inclined to turn up.
    It is Inevitable.....

Free carriage does not apply to Saturday deliveries.

If you would like a Saturday delivery we charge the difference between Standard 9am-5.30pm working day delivery and the charge for Saturday.

If in a case occurs where you are entitles to have the Saturday delivery refunded, its only this difference between Standard 9am-5.30pm working day delivery and the charge for Saturday you would be refunded.

    Hope this helps

once you have the tracking number i would call your local depot to let them know you will be in on saturday, give them exact instructions on how to press the correct buzzer, how you will answer within 30 seconds and be at the door to accept the parcel within 1 minute of them hitting the buzzer.

maybe then they will get the point that they cant blagg there way out of yours as its not a standard 20 second delivery..

    I think so

Can I just try an example using made up figures to see if I get it?

    Normal delivery is £5
    Saturday delivery is £20

As a Hexus member in (hopefully) good standing, I only pay £15 in the first place to get Saturday delivery and if it fails, I get this refunded.

    That sound right?

No, you would pay £20 for your Saturday delivery.

If the service is refunded, for any reason, you would have the difference between Saturday and standard refunded - which in this case would be £20 ...

Ok, it was this paragraph that threw me "If you would like a Saturday delivery we charge the difference between Standard 9am-5.30pm working day delivery and the charge for Saturday."

no matter though You've cleared it up fine!
