Exclamation Daewoo L2200DM - DVI Not Working?

    Hey all,
I have just purchased a Daewoo L2200DM monitor from you and the DVI does not seem to work? (I also purchased the cable from you). When I plug the cable in I get a 'Digital Check Cable' message on the screen.

The monitor is working correctly using VGA though.

Now I know the port on the graphics card works as I have tried another monitor on it and it displays correctly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Leon

Have you tried the TFT with another DVI cable to eliminate a problem with the cable ?

    Regards

Unfortunately I don't have a spare one. I will attempt to borrow one from work/ a colleague and report back.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Philipp/Scan,
I have now tried another DVI cable (brand new as well) and I still get the 'Digital Check Cable' message.

I am using a X850 card in my Shuttle (ST20) and as I have previously states, the DVI port works fine on my other monitor.

The Shuttle ST20 has graphics on board, is it worth trying the monitor on that?

    Any other suggestions?

Yup, try it in your shuttle. If it has a simular thing then it's defo the monitor.

Not sure what you have done, but I had a simular problem when I recently got a 17" Daewoo TFT. If you were plugging the DVI cable within windows, then try turning the comp off and plugging the DVI cable in

Thanks Mosherben, I'll give it a go on my onboard graphics and see whether it makes a difference.

Some monitors don't like DVI mode unless you have it set in it's native resolution, so have it in vga mode then set the native resolution of the monitor, switch off and try DVI mode

You only need 3 cables for a monitor unless you have HDMI on your TV

Ah excellent call sir. I am currently using the DVI port on my graphics card with my 1280 x 1024 17" TFT. I will set that to be 1650 x 1080, power off my machine and then plug in the DVI with the new monitor.

I will let you know how I get on.

    Thanks all for the advice

Edit: Another quick question: as I have on board graphics as well as a separate graphics card, do you think it sensible to have the on board graphics powering my 'extra' 17" monitor and then the graphics card powering the main monitor?

Thanks for the help guys, I got the DVI working last night. The monitor just doesn't like displaying any picture unless the resolution is set to be 1650 x 1080 (thanks to Mad-Max for the reminder of this!).

I'll add a note regarding this to the product information as it could catch a few people out.

    Spoke too soon

The DVI has now stopped working and all resolutions seem to have been reset. Damn confusing!

Even when I put the new monitor onto the VGA port it still seems to mess with the resolutions i.e. I will set the new monitor to be 1680 x 1050, shut down the pc, turn on pc and the monitor willl now be set at 1280 x 1024?

Any more ideas guys? This is really driving me mad.

Gonna have to RMA this if I can't sort it - the monitor really seems to have a problem with altering resolutions/display properties

Edit: Just wanted to note that I have tried multiple display drivers (e.g. Omega, Catalyst etc) to no avail

Make sure you set the refresh rate to 60hz, and dont use any programs to overide that value.
A lot of TFT's will go mad if they have anything bar a 60hz input.
