    Ordered or not ordered?

I made an order yesterday with scan for a scythe CPU cooler by going through the normal process.
Some weird halifax banking came up asking me to register for secure banking, i clicked deny.
I have no idea whether my order was completed after this because I didn't receive an email nor does it show up in "View Previous Orders" on the scan website. Can you tell me if my order has come through.

Im guessing you can find my account by using the scan2hexus thing. If not PM me.
    Thanks, Pete

We have the order on our system, waiting to be invoiced

If you have not received e-mail confirmation of the order within the hour please let me know..

Please do not re-place the order unless advised as this could result in duplicate orders

    Best Regards

if you require the order quite urgently, I would advise ringing the sales line and placing the order with us.

Please note you will need to have an active internet connection while placing the order in order to go through the Verify By Visa payment system.

Its an anti-fraud thing introduce by the card companies and or retailers to counter-act people stealing your debit/credit cards.
The first time you're asked to register a password then on consecutive orders you have to punch it in to verify the sale.

It's a bit like if you kept using your debit/credit card over the phone your card issuer might phone you up after the 6th sale to comfirm that it is you thats using it.

Not fool proof, but a handy way to try and stop fraud.

    Gunwitch is correct.

More and More banks have started to send out literature explaining this system and we have to go through this no matter what with VISA orders. Think of it like going into tesco's or any other large retailer and ordering. Now you have to input your PIN into the chip and pin machines.

Think of VBV and MSC as the online eqivalent of chip and pin but for security, rather than insert your pin number you are asked to created a password (6 characters - at least 1 number) and then you account is protected. This as I've said is rolling out more now and by the end of summer this is going to be one of the major ways of processing payments.

I think what lee was suggesting is that you ring up to give your payment details. You won't get any emails through until its paid, as i belive the first one comes to confirm succesful payment

Got an email that my order has been cancelled.
Now the question is, order by phone or again over the internet and complete the card protection thing?
Do i get the free shipping if i order over the phone?

You can do either but please be aware we too direct all the relevant orders to the payment page and then provide a pin number unique to the order so the VBV/MSC can be done.

Yeap - Just give us your forum name when speaking to the scan staff, mention hexus and then the carriage is removed (if the order qualifies that is)

You can see the list of card issuers who have already implemented the VBV system Here

The order has come through this time.
Even though the registration for the verified by visa thing is "optional", it seems that an order can't be placed without it.

I placed on order on ocuk with a different card (again skipping the fraud protection thing) and the order was not made, so it's not just scan.

Thanks for resolving this for me.
