so, scanguys, do you have predominant stocks of the older steppings, or G0s?
Intel q6600 3.6ghz
Asus P5K-Deluxe WiFi
4Gb OCZ ReaperX at 1000Mhz
768Mb BFG 8800GTX
2xWD1001FALS in RAID0
Dtek Fuzion / 2xPA120.2 / DDC01Ultra+PetrasTech top / EK 8800GTX FC Block
Audigy 2ZS
Thermaltake Mozart TX
The Q66 was already advertised at £176 last night, when I saw this I called Scan this morning to ask if they could add the CPU to my existing order at the advertised price as I didn't want to order it on Monday and pay another fiver for shipping.
The lady at the end of the line was very helpful and the CPU was added to my order in about 20s. I should be getting it on Tues
PLEASE NOTE:
The G0 Stepping cannot be confirmed at any time ...
Sorry
hi Chrisp
are these prices the cutdown prices that are due for 22.7.07.
Thanks
The G0 stepping have a new S-Spec code of SLACR printed on the box so it would be easy to check them as you receive new stock.

if scan are saying they cannot confirm. they must have the older stepping and dont want to say
See this thread: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...light=stepping
Solution to the problem seems simple though. When putting the stock onto the shelves seperate the stock so all the same stepping cpus are together instead of mixing.

Scan have always had a policy that they will not confirm or guarantee steppings.

EDIT - do other e-tailers allow you to say "I want one of the good overclocking ones, not one of the normal ones"? If so how would they expect to sell the non-G0 steppings?

I've been told that the Q6600 at Scan are actually the G0 stepping, here's a quote from the e-mail
'The new Intel Q6600 that we are selling are the latest edition, they are the Energy Efficient 95W.
Now that the price has dropped with this item, we are experiencing extremely large volumes of orders, I would suggest ordering one this weekend to avoid disappointment.
Kind Regards
vicky
Scan Computers'
But wondering why it wasn't stated in here if I've been told else where since I've just purchase it at £181.89 with delivery charges didn't knew there was a Free delivery for Hexus members

I wouldn't mind paying Scan an extra fiver or something to be guaranteed an energy efficient 95W one
I agree I think they should list it as a seperate item for about £5 more and that should more than cover the cost of having to look on the box, which really wouldn't take long because they could be sorted into seperate batches and it would only take a second or two to look at the box of each one.
