I read that thermalright did that deliberatley because the intel head spreaders arent flat themselves, but concave.... [ie raised at the edges]

Have a look at the chip beforehand.....if you lap the HS, you may want to lap the Chip too.

lol, just did a google around and some people have concave heatspreaders, others convex - it's worth checking!

    Ok Guys.... Very good news

I have just had confirmation that the powers that be have decided Scan will be splitting Q6600 G0 stock.... , which you have all been waiting for

We will create a new SKU for the G0 stock, to guarantee you receive this stepping ...

Unlike other Retailer's Scan will not be charging any extra for this privilege and of course SCAN2HEXUS Free carriage is still available as well

We have no G0 stock at the moment and Intel cannot provide an ETA of when the G0 stepping will start to ship or how many we will receive, however we will monitor this closely and I will update this thread as soon as the G0 stock becomes an option so you place your order.

This is the first time Scan has done something like this and the decision has been made due to this popular request.

Watch this space for any updates

    Best Regards

Wow that is pretty impressive. Even the OCUK fanbois would be hard press to argue against that.

Hopefully the decision will also make sound financial sense for Scan and you'll be rewarded by picking up additional orders from potential new customers as a result. Hopefully a win/win situation.

I've been watching this thread for a few days. This seems like a good reason to register so I can post

Is there any chance you'll be taking preorders in the short period between knowing you have incoming stock & the stock arriving?

    Thanks.
