I bought a 32" Hannspree LCD from scan a few weeks ago. and as soon as i got the tv and plugged the freview box in the sound kept cutting out. So i went out bought a new 20 pound scart lead thinking it might be that...but it was still happening. the sound would just cut off every time u used one of the scart connections. any way few days past and i thought it might be the digi box. so i went out and bought a new philips box which was another 35 quid i plugged it in and after about 5 min it started again. i phoned scan up. using the options for the returns which i was on hold for about 30 min? (if it was a sale it would be answered within 30sec) i got a women telling me that they dont deal with the tv's when they go faulty. she gave me a no to some company called Repairtech. This had all happened within 14 days of recieving the TV. anyway i phoned repair tech and explained the situation again the woman on the phone said even though u havent had the tv for 14 days the invoice no was made a few days before so u were out of the 14 day replacement they had. i was really annoyed as the sales of good act states:
Wherever goods are bought they must "conform to contract". This means they must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (i.e. not inherently faulty at the time of sale).
these goods have never been fit for the puropose since i recieved them. any way it has been 6 working days since repairtech took the tv. and i phoned them up today. the women on the phone said we have only just recieved the tv and its now gonna be another 7 to 10 working days before i get it back. so that means before i even get my tv back the repiar company is gonna have the tv longer than i have. i think this is disgraceful. Repairtech dont give a crap about there customers and scan dont want anythign to do with the aftersales service of the tv. i have spent about 1000 in the last moth with scan with more sales on the way. but if the aftersales is like this is it worth it?
