    couriers!!!

I ordered the majority of my new HTPC yesterday and paid for Saturday delivery.

I got the despatch email yesterday - 3 parcels....

This morning, all excited, I open the door to a City Link man with 2 boxes, so I asked where the third was (assuming he would say "in the van").

"We don't know" is the response I get!! Upon enquiring as to whether it is likely to turn up today, he told me that it would likely be next week "if they can find it".

I wouldn't mind so much, but the case and reserator have turned up, with no sign of the box containing all the internals (ie the stuff that makes the computer work!!!).

After about 20 minutes of searching, I finally found a telephone number with someone ont he other end of it (not many numbers manned on Saturday at Scan or City Link). The lady told me that "for some reason" the consignment had been split onto 2 separate routes and that I should get the 3rd parcel "later today, before 12pm").

Let's hope she is right, rather than just fobbing me of...

    NOT IMPRESSED!!

i think that translates to "oops we forgot it and have actually found it"

now the fun part, has it been used as a football, or did it look tempting enough for one of the agency workers to open and inspect, on the chance theres something in there they want.

do not let them go until you have checked the content of box 3 for damage, they will understand, well they have no choice if you dont sign until its been examined.

and when it doesnt show up scan will refund the saturday charge.

get back on the phone and make them confirm its on a van and is being delivered today, ask for a manager as the phone monkeys will be reading from the BS list.

I have just done that - a different lady confirmed that it is on a van. she then went away for a few minutes to check (assume she spoke to the driver) and said that the latest it will be is 12:30, but it is "definitely" going to come today... fingers crossed!

It does happen, getting two deliveries in one day that is, even the same driver.

I hope you get the second delivery mate, nothing worse than having half a system and 2 days with nothing to do.

    Good luck.

My first thought was that she said 12:30 as they will be shut by then.. Hopefully she was just being helpful and telling the truth..

It could still turn up but to me it sounds like a lot of rubbish, if it does not turn up today then get back onto Scan and demand a refund for the saturday delivery or at least half of it back.

they may state there open till 4pm, but im almost 100% positive that the customer support side of things, ie someone picking the phone up stops at 12:30, branch is open till 4 to let the drivers get back etc..

may be worth ringing to ask what time the phone lines shut, if its half 12 you know there taking the pee and u aint getting it today.
