When purchased direct from DELL, the 24" Dell 2407WFP monitor comes with a dead pixel guarantee, so that even if 1 pixel is dead, they will swap it out within the first seven days. People selling the same monitor on ebay also seem to offer this dead-pixel guarantee.
If purchased from Scan, does it come with this dead-pixel guuarantee ?
Is this the A04 revision ?
Will you be stocking the new HC (High Colour) version anytime soon ?
I dont think they come direct from Dell with a dead pixel gaurentee, only resellers who have big Dell accounts seem to offer it like the ones on Ebay you quote.
I got mine off Ebay and was very happy with it. I don't think Scan will offer a gaurantee like that. Although as discussed in other threads, you will be unlucky if you get one with a dead pixel.

While DELL don't promote the fact they offer this dead-pixel guarantee, they will apparently offer a new screen within the first seven days.
Probably because you have the right to return it within 7 days no matter how well it worked. Sounds like they are simply covering the return cost and being considerate. I don't think it's a dead pixel guarantee, or you would expect it to last the entire warranty.Quote:

From recollection Dell and the majority of LCD manufacturers and distributors have adopted a similar policy concerning monitors that are purchased directly from their website or through a third party. The amount of dead pixels allowed is dependent on the size of the monitor, but also the positioning and frequency of the discoloured / dead pixel. Usually for a Twenty to Twenty- Four inch LCD monitors the panel must have six dead or stuck pixels before the company contemplate replacing it.

Although if you are polite, persistant and determined certain companies including Dell may swapout or replace faulty panels that have a single dead pixel, but that depends on their charitable attitude and customer care.
The seven day notice is due to the distance selling regulation, which is the online buying protection or cooling off period for items that are damaged, faulty or doesn't fit the purposes when you first purchased the product.

If you read on the thread below the buyer of the monitor with the dead pixel was told by Scan he could return the monitor under the DSR.

DSR may not apply to faulty items but then these items in the view of the manufactuer or Scan is it is not faulty becuase of a dead pixel. The DSR lets you reject / return an item within 7 days of delivery if after inspecting the item you are not happy with it.
If you return the item under the DSR you pay the return cost and you wont be refunded the original delivery charge.
