Warranty on Seagate 'No Brainer of the week'....

Hi, its showing in the 'warranty info' for the 500GB Seagate sata drive you have on offer that it has 5 year warranty. Is this correct? Just checking as I have read elsewhere that Seagate have repealed the 5 year warranty on 320GB and 500GB drives.....

Also, where are Seagate warranty returns made to, the US or Europe?

I think there was a story with the OEM hard drives not having a 5 year warranty and Ebuyer getting their stock mixed up with retail units. I still think Seagate have 5 year warranty on their disks but I would of thought that the warranty after 1 year would be with Seagate direct.

So to clarify, the 5 year warranty remains on all their (internal) drives?

All Seagate drives come with a 5year warranty.

Their server drives are of course under 5 year warranties aswell

Maybe not too fast - sometimes the drive needs to be sent to Holland (??) before Coventry issues a replacement. I've had 2 which needed that.
    Cheers, David

you just have to give them your credit card details and they will send one out to you first. then use the same packaging to ship yours back within 14days i think.. just tell them you do not have a backup drive

the last one i got was from holland too strangely enough

    Guys,

This thread has gone so far off topic I don't even remember what it was about anymore.

So to bring this back to topic and close the thread, I confirm that the drives are 5 years warranty and the drive is sent back to a UK address.
