Edit: Never mind - thought you meant something else.
Yeah, I mainly want to use it for a back up and a bit of turbo flash. I didn't want to risk getting the SSD hard drive that comes with the laptop..bit small and im a bit wary to be honest.
I'd probably only get a 16gb one and might try running an OS off it just to see if it works and how well..
Where you going to stick the remote if you stick this into the expresscard slot ?
I'll have to re-evaluate the SSD state when I actually upgrade my laptop. Wouldnt mind getting a 64gb drive as the only drive in my laptop if it will give me the benefits.
Of course, I expect you to do all the tests and post back here with you results.

stick it in my bag when the SSD is in.. I doubt the remote will get much use anyway.
I'll post back my thoughts of course.
i ended up having to ebay a 8gb lexar ssd expresscard from the US, couldnt find any available in the UK at all :/
bump bump bump
bump, ive noticed that at another etailer now..
the lexar 4gb, 8gb and 16gb ones
I've read some reviews on these now and i'm not that impressed but still willing to give one a go.
Wouldnt mind having one in my laptop if I can run the OS off one and have the hard drive in there, spun down until accessed. Not sure how practical that is. And whether it would give any performance or battery benefit.

It may give a battery benifit but from what i've been reading it wont give any particular performance boost.
Depending on the speed of the main disk, the amount of memory and the applications you are running, you can see a performanc boost with these SSDs. I'm tempted to get one, but not until the price drops. Or I might replace the 120GB internal drive with a 2.5" SSD.
This tech is going to rock but might take a while to drop
