Component problem and Already RMA'd

Hi.

I have a build of E6600, Corsar TwinX 2GD DDR2 6400, 256MB BFG 8600GT o/clock graphics card and Asus P5WDH Deluxe motherboard.

Now when I first got the parts I put them together and no display. After trying to test (bit hard with no internal speakers working with P180 case) these four parts were shipped back.

Scan tested the items declared a fault with the graphics card replaced it (received today less one cable for some reason!) and I still have the same problem (blank screen).

Some help would be appreciated on this as I am starting to get annoyed.

You sure it was a diferent card that you received back?

Think so as the card's box had a brand new shrink wrap around it and all the booklets look new as well.

Monitor say it is in 'powersave mode' (dell monitor). The monitor works fine on five year old 4550 machine.

Scan stated it was a fault with the graphics card and not the motherboard/CPU or memory (which were all shipped back for testing).

Unfortunately only other machine i have is AGP and as the card is under £100.00 then spending another £25.00 on a redundant card seems strange, the thing should work (or at least one of two that I have tried with the m/board).


Monitor is in sleep mode.

Another card at £25.00 + against a graphics card worth under £100.00 seems a waste of money one of the two cards i've tried should work.

Connectors, what connectors for the g/card board? There is no power connector on the board and its flush in the socket.

Hi Philipp,

I have tried again to get the parts we have discussed in various IM's working without luck.

Resetting the CMOS has not worked. Can you please advise further as I suspect either another faulty graphics card or more likely a faulty motherboard.

Does the card have 2 ports? ie. DVI x 2 or 1xDVI and 1x VGA ?

If so, then try both ports as one can fail and leave the other one healthy.

2 x DVI and yes it does not work with either port or with DVI-VGA converter either

The PM system has changed so I do not have access (need to post another 4 replies so will give a quick breakdown as to what has occured)

Got goods (full system to assemble).

The system did not work when assembled. Was told when I returned it that the graphics card was faulty.

Received new graphics card (NVidia 8600 GT) with the original motherboard, memory and processor.

Tried to assemble again and still not working.
