Question Recommend me a replacement MB

Had an ASRock 945g DVI which I RMA'd last month since it decided not to POST one morning. The MB had to be sent back to the manufacturer due to warranty being void coz of burn marks around the PCI slot. Having signed and returned the disclaimer form in June, received an e-mail bout 2-3 weeks ago requesting the return of the signed form. From what I gather, items that are to be sent back to manufacturer are sent in bulk...*sigh* so there is a possibility that the board wasn't sent till bout 1-2 weeks ago. I've been dealing with this whole RMA process since June and tbh I've lost patience in the whole process. I'm now on the hunt for a new motherboard ( £80 max) + CPU cooler (£30 max)...

    SPECS:

    CPU: Intel Pentium D 805

    GPU: 256MB Sapphire PCIe X1600Pro
    PSU: 480W XCLIO SCF/aPFC/PCIE
    Case: Coolermaster Centurion 5

Re: Recommend me a replacement MB

I would personally recommend a board based on the IP35 chipset just so you can upgrade to the core2duo as and when needed. This chipset supports all the newer versions which have a 1333 Mhz FSB and they are proving to be very good performers.

A board such as one like this one Here should suffice.

As for a cooler for the LGA775, most people are getting the Arctic Cooler for their systems and this can be found Here

    I hope this information helps.

    Best Regards,

p35 chipset only supports 800/1066/1333FSB speeds, so it wouldn't work for the 533MHz 805D

I forgot that little oversight as I was trying to suggest something that would give the end user more life out of his system.

As such I'd go for something like the This then.
